John is a strategic finance leader with 20 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, financial operations and corporate development. He is a financial management, process improvement, and strategy execution leader across multiple industries including healthcare and financial services.
Prior to joining Sphinx Strategies as the Chief Financial Officer, John served in various leadership roles across multiple healthcare entities. He was the CFO and a BOD for Launch Tower Health, a not-for-profit healthcare organization, helping early-stage healthcare companies grow revenues and improve operational efficiencies. He was the Market Finance Director for Jencare Senior Medical Center, a subsidiary of ChenMed LLC, where he served as the finance leader for five medical centers across the Atlanta area. He helped the company grow its membership and revenues by 20% year-over-year while driving down over $1.5MM in medical and operating costs. Previously to Jencare, John held multiple roles for Premier Inc, a strategic healthcare entity supporting over one-third of the hospitals across the country. While at Premier, John was the finance leader for the Supply Chain Services business which included CommCare Specialty Pharmacy. He incorporated a strong expense management policy, helping improve the company’s pre-tax net income margin from 69% to 74%. When John was a Director for Premier’s corporate development team, he was a core member of the team that took the company from a private limited partnership to a publicly controlled corporation trading on NASDAQ and was a key team member of several acquisitions and investments that helped Premier double its revenues over a five-year period.
John is a visionary with the ability to help organizations see the big picture, while managing the details. He is an advocate for what is important to the organization, possessing the ability to help refocus priorities when necessary. His goal is to take a vision and make it a reality for the organization.
John has a Bachelor of Science in Finance, Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems and an MBA.
